Kaar helps a petroleum refining company in setting up an automated appraisal and training system; accomplished using SAP OSA.
 
The Client
The client is a complex petroleum refining company, floated by two of world’s largest Oil production companies. The refinery processes some 400,000 barrels per day of Arabian crude. Approximately half of its output is consumed domestically, making the client a main supplier of gasoline in the western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
The Challenges
To improve employee performance and effective tracking, the Client wanted to revamp its existing appraisal format. They wanted to go paperless on the approval process. Also, they intended to accommodate training and development plans into the new appraisal format. They needed a system which would update their employee profiles automatically on successful completion of training and gaining suitable skill sets.
 
What Kaar Offered
Our team of consultants examined the existing processes and designed, configured, and implemented an SAP Objective Setting and Appraisal (OSA) system based on their needs. We also automated the approval processes using SAP workflow and status flow of the appraisal documents. To ensure flexibility we created different appraisal templates for different categories of employees, with a total of 8 templates. Huge sets of related reports were also created to allow business users to get intelligent inferences out of the appraisal and allied processes.
 
Business Benefits
The client benefited immensely post SAP Objective setting Appraisal implementation. They got a completely automated appraisal process to set appraisal objectives, conduct mid year review, automated approvals, automated updating post successful training process. They also now reap benefits of generating huge number of reports to track, manage and analyze appraisal and allied processes.
