Kaar helps a petrochemical major to automate its succession planning and allied process developed using SAP OSA.
 
The Client
A leading petrochemical major with revenues over $1billion, listed in Saudi stock market. It actively develops and invests in petrochemical and chemical industries, both basic and intermediate to produce chemicals used to manufacture multitude of products. Through its affiliates, the client currently produces over one million mtpa of methanol and 75 thousand mtpa of butanediol.
 
The Challenges
The Client wanted to create a road map for talent management & identify capable successors for key positions. Succession planning and management were completely manually maintained by the HR team. It was growing increasingly tedious to short list, map, and evaluate potential successors for a particular position. The Client was in serious need of an intelligent system to scale down and streamline the succession and related (training and appraisal) processes.
 
What Kaar Offered
Our team of consultants set up the procedures for Succession planning. The Qualification Catalog was created, required qualification was set for each critical position, and employee qualification with complete skill set was also captured into the system. A Profile match up option was created which would generate the list of possible candidates/ potential successors for a position. Positions with no suitable matches were classified as deficits; to fill those deficits, the system proposes training programs to next level candidates. A SAP Training & Event management module was implemented to automate their training needs, and this was paired with an Employee Self Service (ESS) system to automate the process. We rounded up the procedure by implementing an objective appraisal system to monitor the progress and growth of employees.
