Kaar conducts a complex feasibility study to help an oil & gas major to develop a road map for installing new systems to manage its site and enterprise wide physical security issues.

The Client
The client is the world’s largest oil corporation with the largest crude oil reserves and production. The company’s oil operations cover Saudi Arabia including territorial waters in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea totaling more than 1.5 million sq. km and proven reserves of 259.8 billion barrels of oil. Its revenue stands at an excess of $200 billion, as of April 2008.

The Challenges
Being an extremely large organization, security of its sensitive installations was of major concern to the client. With huge security installations in place, failure of the legacy systems to capture, track and manage sensitive information was proving a major setback both economically and politically. The client wanted complete documented clarity on the various legacy systems and the complexities involved in installing the new state of the art systems.

What Kaar Offered
The client organization had a complex corporate stratum; there were multiple layers and departments which had to be taken into account before embarking on the detailed study and analysis. Kaar’s team of consultants conducted a comprehensive study of all the departments understood their current processes and procedures. The team recommended Solutions ranging from simple standard function like 'Serialization' to highly advanced State-of-the-art Solutions like RFID and Smart Cards. These helped the client to track every weapon/equipment/uniform to its owner. Similarly vehicles were tracked based on vehicle pass issued. The team also proposed changes to the Procurement process of the client like adding additional storage locations, delivering materials to a delivery point center etc.
