The client is the world’s largest oil corporation with the largest crude oil reserves and production. The company’s oil operations cover Saudi Arabia including territorial waters in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea totaling more than 1.5 million sq. km and proven reserves of 259.8 billion barrels of oil. Its revenue stands at an excess of $200 billion, as of April 2008.

Being an extremely large organization, the manual process of change order processing was a huge concern for the client. There was no corporate system to track the change order processing. The approval and creation of Release Purchase Order were manual. There was no track for verification of work completion and payment authorization. These activities were therefore time-consuming, labor intensive and did not offer sufficient flexibility to support evolving business demands. Hence, the Client wanted to build a comprehensive change order supplement system to eliminate the paper based internal process.

Our team of consultant studied the clients existing SAP system and recommended a Solution which involved merging various processes across SAP HR, MM. The initiation and approval of change order was automated. On the approval of change order the Release Purchase Order is created. The verification of work completion and payment authorization was captured online. All this was done over the existing SAP landscape; as a result the client successfully integrated and automated all of their existing manual business activities.
